General characteristics of the active substance
A condition in which the veins do not efficiently return blood from the legs to the heart, chronic venous insufficiency is linked to problems such as varicose veins, ankle swelling, and nighttime leg cramping. Horse chestnut contains a compound called aescin, which has been found to produce an anti-inflammatory effect, increases venous tone and reduces transcapillary filtration. In clinical studies, standardized Horse Chestnut seed extract compared with placebo significantly reduced symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency (such as oedema, pain and itching).

Composition
Each capsule contains 250 mg of Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen (Horse Chestnut seed) standardized extract (5-8:1), equivalent to 50 mg aescin.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.

Dosage
Take 1 capsule twice daily (for at least 4 weeks).
