Action of active substances Guarana extract Extract of guarana is obtained from the seeds and fruits of a convolvulaceous plant that grows in South America Paullinia cupana, also known as guarana or Brazilian cacao. Guarana seeds contain from 2.7 to 3.5 percent of caffeine. The positive properties of this plant were known since long time ago: it was used in obesity treatment, as antioxidant, well known as aphrodisiac, has antipyretic, analgesic and blood coagulation decreasing properties, also decreases diarrhea and inflammation. South American Indians used guarana for food preparation, drinks and medicines. Choline Choline is vitamin like substance that is essential for cells membrane integrity. It improves nerve impulse spread in neurons and is important in normal functioning of heart, kidney and liver. It also decreases fat accumulation in liver and other organs. Inositol Inositol is a B group vitamin like substance. It is found in nuts, beans, wheat and oranges. Inositol is essential for normal lipids and cholesterol metabolism, also for cell membrane formation and functioning. Garcinia extract Extract of garcinia is obtained from the fruits of the plant in Southeast Asia Garcinia Cambogia. These fruits contain a complex hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that is chemically similar to citric acid. Hydroxycitric acid decreases the transformation of excess glycogen to fat deposits and this is very useful for loosing weight and also diminishes the appetite. Bladder wrack extract Extract of Bladder Wrack improves metabolism and diminishes the appetite. Chrome Chrome normalizes sugar and cholesterol concentration in blood. It also diminishes attraction to sugar and sweets. Red pepper extract The active substance of the extract of red pepper is capsaicin that accelerates lipid metabolism, diminishes the appetite, improves digestion and that’s way it is very suitable for obesity treatment. Ginger extract Extract of ginger improves digestion, is suitable in case of constipation, lowers cholesterol concentration in blood, diminishes the attraction to sugar and is suitable in obesity treatment. Chinese tea plant extract Extract of Chinese tea plant is used in traditional Chinese medicine. It improves digestion, lowers cholesterol concentration in blood, useful for loosing overweight. Bitter orange extract Extract of bitter orange is suitable for digestion disorders treatment, loosing overweight and for constipation prevention. It also has tonic properties. Chitosan Chitosan is a natural nutritional fiber obtained by deacetylation of chitin in shells of crustacean. Chitosan attracts and binds from 8 to 10 times more fat in intestine than its own weight. Because of that fat absorption decreases and elimination from the organism improves, cholesterol concentration in blood decreases. Tea holly extract Extract of tea holly has antioxidative properties, accelerates carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and improves digestion.
Scientific researches demonstrating the efficiency * Extract of guarana diminishes headache, improves brain function. (Galduroz, & Carlini, 1994; Espinola, et al., 1997) * It has physical and mental stimulation properties. (Santa Maria et al., 1998; Bempong & Houghton, 1992). * The substances in the extract of guarana have diuretic, vasodilative, bronchodilative properties. (Farnsworth, Akerele, Bingel, Soejarto, & Guo, 1985). * It has antioxidative properties. (Mattei et al., 1998) * Extract of guarana has antiaggregative, blood dissolving property. (Bydlowski, et al. 1991). * The substances in extract of garcinia stimulate lipid oxidation, normalize lipid concentration in obese persons. Weight loss is noticed in three months after the administration of this extract, no side effect observed. (Mol Cell Biochem. 2004 May;260(1-2):171-86; Gene Expr. 2004;11(5-6):251-62.) * 12 week randomized double blind placebo controlled study showed that the weight of obese persons decreased significantly after the administration of garcinia extract (P<.001). (Heymsfield SB. Obesity Research Center, St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, NY 10025, USA, 1998) * Extract of bitter orange stimulates lipid dissociation, fat burning, increases physical activity. (Colker CM, Kalman DS, Torina GC, Perlis T, Street C. Effects of Citrus aurantium extract, caffeine, and St John's wort body fat loss, lipid levels, and mood states in overweight healthy adults. Curr Ther Res 1999;60:145-53.) * Double blind placebo controlled study showed that weight loss was significant in obese people after the administration of chitosan.
